This cozy Italian restaurant excels in delivering classic dishes that are both comforting and vibrant, making it an ideal spot for those seeking genuine Italian fare without leaving the city.

Step inside and you’re greeted by an atmosphere that’s both relaxed and intimate, perfect for casual dinners, gatherings with friends, or a laid-back evening enjoying great food. The ambiance reflects the quintessence of Italian hospitality — friendly, unpretentious, and welcoming, where every guest feels like part of the famiglia.

The culinary offerings at Gallo Nero highlight the essence of Italy’s diverse regional tastes. Particularly praised are the pasta dishes, which customers regularly describe as fresh and skillfully prepared, capturing the delicate balance of flavors and textures that make Italian cuisine beloved worldwide. The tomato soup is noted for its richness and freshness—a hearty yet elegant starter that warms the palate. For pizza lovers, the handcrafted pies, such as the mushroom-topped pizza, deliver an ideal crispy yet tender crust layered with generous, flavorful toppings. Each bite reflects an authentic dedication to quality and tradition.

Complementing the food, the wine selection at Gallo Nero is thoughtfully curated, offering just the right pairing to elevate every meal. Whether you prefer a robust red or a delicate white, these wines accentuate the dishes perfectly and add a touch of Italian sophistication to the dining experience.

While the prices are midrange, diners find them fair considering the quality and portion sizes, making it accessible for frequent visits. Service here is generally warm and personal—staff are known to engage warmly with guests, injecting a little humor and making the experience feel very special. However, some patrons have noted occasional delays and moments where attentiveness could improve, suggesting the bustling charm of this neighborhood gem means it can get lively.

For dessert, the traditional tiramisu stands out as a must-try. Many guests appreciate its authentic flavor and balanced sweetness, standing in stark contrast to other overly sugary options. It’s the perfect finale to a meal that captures Italy’s culinary soul elegantly.

Though not located right in the city center, Gallo Nero’s location at Hannemannstraße offers a quieter neighborhood vibe that some diners find a welcome respite from the busy tourist areas. Many consider it worth the trip for exceptional Italian cuisine paired with a cozy atmosphere and friendly service.

In summary, Gallo Nero is a charming Italian restaurant where the warmth of the service matches the inviting flavors on your plate. Its authentic dishes, from rich tomato soups to perfectly baked pizzas, combined with thoughtful wine pairings and a relaxed setting, create a genuinely satisfying dining experience that keeps visitors coming back for more.

nice cozy place. Pizza is quite good. Pls take the traditional tiramisu, much better than the extra sweet strawberry one.

Good Italian food a little on top of standard. (Saltimbocca ok, but without love for the really good taste) ... see photo. Service slow and not aware. (Even after politely reminding and directly walking to the bar, raising "we are really thirsty and we wait >20mins" When do you take the order? Indoor ambiente: Tables too close. Not inviting nor cosy. Music too loud.

The food was Yummmmy. The quantity looks less, but one plate is suffficient for a girl to eat. Ambience was amazing and the service was quick. Just that, this place is little far from center and very quiet at night. So, visit this place in the day.

It is so far the best restaurant I have been to. The food was amazing and very detailed we could see the passion if the chefs there. The bread was soft and tasty the olive oil was amazing they made their own oil! Me and my partners were not a second disappointed in the restaurant and whenever he came to Berlin we would go to this restaurant again- we loved it so much that we went two days in a row in October. Seriously .. the price was low when you had that quality. Definitely recommend !
